The Children's Book Fair is the little sister of the Buenos Aires' International Book Fair, one of the biggest in Latin America. In compliance with resolutions, tasks, and the main mission of the UNESCO itself and the organizations associated with it, particularly in cooperation with individual National Sections of IBBY (the International Board on Books for Young People), national UNESCO commissions, and with artists' professional associations, this event makes every effort to create suitable conditions for assessing and evaluating these illustrations, manage competition among them, and thus supports the overall development of this genre of art. The conference theme, "Children´s Books: Where Worlds Meet," captures the spirit of what will happen over the course of three days as people from all corners of the United States, as well as a range of countries from around the world come together to read, discuss, share, and revel in books that take us to worlds real and imaginary; offer insights into other people and ways of life; and promote international understanding through children´s books. Illustrators can request appointments in order to show one's portfolio to editors, who each has a corner and also organize signatures. You can then meet your favourite author/illustrator.
