"I've not submitted to them for ages, so happy to have completed one on time (hopefully!)

Question: How did the birdhouse burn down???

Answer: (imagine David Attenborough's lovely pedantic voice here)

The Lesser Pheonix Hummingbird, a rare and much smaller cousin of the common Phoenix, has the typical lifespan for which the bird is reknown. After 500 years this tiny Pheonix transforms into a beautiful golden egg, in a shower of fire and smoke, which then hatches to renew his life for the next 500 years.

Unfortunately for this little guy he's forgotten what he's in for. It came as a great surprise to the entire family when his bday party was ended with such a bang.

Painter X, wacom tablet, crying over the background layer that was so tragically corrupted just as I was about to finish and submit, sniff. A quickie background with a blur will have to suffice...boohoo.
